Cued Ballroom in the Round
Round Dancing has been described as “ballroom dancing with training wheels.” This is a fair representation, as our emphasis is on FUN, not frustration. Basically, dancers learn steps or movements which have specific names or “cues.” These steps are then incorporated into a sequence and set to the appropriate music. Traditional ballroom rhythms such as waltz, cha cha, rumba, and foxtrot offer enough diversity to keep the dancing interesting and entertaining. The cuer, the person giving the cues, is to Round Dancing as the Caller is to Square Dancing, so there is no need to memorize complicated sequences – dancers just respond to the cues. MUCH EASIER!
We offer several learning opportunities and locations in the Green Valley and Tucson areas, and we cue for three Square Dance Clubs as well as for our own Club, so dancers will have a number of dance occasions available.
